TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!
Peter began to say to Him, “Behold, we have left everything and followed You.” Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel’s sake, but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life. (Mark 10:28-30
Holding on to things and people amounts to nothing in this life. But holding on to Christ is everything.
The Scriptures tells us that “Our heavenly Father knows that we need things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all things will be added to us.” (Matthew 6:32-33 paraphrased)
Who or what are you holding on to? Who is your everything?
Does the accumulation of things make you happy?
Are you highly motivated to obtain wealth?
Jesus said, “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned…” – John 15:4-6
In this life, with some help and good fortune, you may gain wealth and material possessions but…
DON’T GET IT TWISTED!
“Without God you have nothing even though you may have everything!”
