“The Greatest Law”
We will of moral necessity grow into the image of what we love most.
This is why we must be careful with whom we spend time with and with whom we love. Love, by its nature, is a creative affinity – it changes, molds, shapes and conforms us.
What or whom we love prophetically shapes our future – it tells us what we shall be and predicts our eternal destiny.
A.W. Tozer said, “We are all in process of becoming. We have already moved from what we were to what we are and we are now moving toward what we shall be.”
We are not in a fixed state but we are ever changing and moving nearer to our heart’s desire. But what is our heart’s desire? Is it not to become more like the one we love? Who do we love; ourselves, money, power, pleasure, things?
Who are we becoming?
This Week’s Word
35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’” (Matthew 22:35-37)
This Week’s Prayer
Oh God, We are so tired of trying to live without You. Please forgive us for withholding our love from You. We repent! We come today seeking Your presence. We surrender completely to You right now. We surrender our whole hearts, minds, bodies and souls to you. We lay down and subject all of our thoughts, emotions, dreams, plans, knowledge and understanding to Your perfect will for our lives. Show us how to love You more each day in Jesus’ Name, Amen!
