Matthew 7:1-2
Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
I have discovered that there are many Christians who stand independent of God’s Holy Word and Holy Spirit and judge other Christians mercilessly. Their judgment is often harsh, unyielding and personally damning. Their judgment of others’ sins is not tempered with mercy or kindness but a strong disposition of righteous superiority .
There is a time for righteous indignation. The Word of God instructs us to expose sin, admonish sinners and rebuke transgressions. But it also says to do these things while giving careful instructions and while practicing love, patience and longsuffering.
The Scripture text says that the judgment that we use to judge others with will be used to judge us. And the scale of punishment that we deem necessary for the sins of others will be measured back to us.
What if God treated you like you treat others who were caught up in transgressions?
Can You Take As Good As You Give?
If you can’t, then give more mercy and forgiveness than you do judgment and punishment.
God is not mocked. What we sow we will reap again.
