And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. “For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it… “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. (Luke 9:23-24, Matthew 10:37)
I had a dream where I was challenged by a potential mate to cease preaching against the sin of homosexuality. In my dream, she said that if I would stop speaking out against homosexuality that she would give herself to me and be my wife and I would be rewarded with personal pleasure and happiness. But in my dream I was offended by her proposition and readily chose God over her.
After I awoke, the question that kept rising in my mind is this:
“Who do you love the most?
This is a question that I believe everyone should ask themselves daily before doing anything or making any decisions.
“Who do you love the most?
If you love God, you will do the things that please Him. If you love yourself, you will do the things that pleases you.
Who do you love the most?
Many folks say that they love the LORD but in actuality they love other things and other people above God. And we can see who and what they love the most by what they invest their time, energies and monies in.
Some folks deceive themselves and others by thinking that they “Love The LORD” by serving in a church or religious organization. In reality, they end up loving the institution and/or organization rather than God. When faced with the reality of their churches’ corrupt message, perverted teachings and immoral leadership, many believers refuse to leave their church or Christian denomination. Some folks love their church and Pastor more than they love God. However, God never commanded that we love Him through service in a religious institution or organization.
The Holy Scripture Tells Us That For This Is The Love Of God, That We Keep His Commandments. (1 John 5:3)
Christ is recorded in John 14:23 as saying, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching.”
Who do you love the most?
